New York, Aug. 2.- John L. Sullivan, under arrest in this city lor prize-fighting, eald before Judge O'Brien yesterday that he was willing to go üouth, and the judge ordered that he be turned over to the Mississippi ofticers who caused his arrest He left for the South in the evening. Jackson, Miss., Aug. 5.- John h. Sullivan reached this city Sunday in charge of the oöicers who brought him trom New York. He was taken to a hoteL Crowds gathered to shake hands with the champion, an episode which so angered Governor Lowry that he ordered the big fellow's transfer to the city jail, declaring that he would not allow a prisoner charged witn a serioue djras Jg lwld a le vee and thus make aiarce Öïjustiee. ; Norfolk, Va., Aug. 6.- Jake Kilraln has been arrested on the beach at Ocean View ,by Detective Norria He was taken back to 'Hampton, where he has been staying for several days. Jackson, Miss., Aug. 6.- Sullivan was released on baii early yesterday morninf. At 11 a. m. a hearing was had before Oudge Campbell, of the Supreme 'Court The Judge ruled that Sullivan must repair to Purvis, Marión County, and give bond for his appearance August 1:1 Meeidian, Miss., Aug. 2.- The train bearlay Sullivan and party arrived at 7 o'clock Menday evening. Governor Lowry and Attomey-General Miller were also on board on their way to attend the prellminary hearing at Purvis. People crowded the stations along the route eager to see Sullivan. A delegation to tha Enlghts of Labor convention were introduced to him and assured him of thelr friendship and esteem. There was such a dense crowd at the station here that the party had difflculty in getting to the hotel.
