THE BOTS IH BLUE. Milwaukee, Aug. 27. - General Warner and the Kanaas City contingent, about 300 strong, put iu an appearance Monday morning and marched to the Plankinton House, which is the headquarters of the Commander-in-Chief. Governor Hoard, Secretary oí State Timme and General Fairchild carne in with the C. C. Washbum Post and were escorted to the Plankinton. Judge Veazy came with the New England people, and General Alger and Mrs. Logan arrived in General Alger's private car and are at the Plankinton. General Sherman arrived at 8 p. m., having been deiayed on the road. He was immediately taken to the Commander-in-Chief's headquarters, where he held an informal reception, after which he retired to his room for the night. Immense crowds come by every train, and there are not less tban 100,000 strangers In the ei y. About 50,000 of them are veterans distributed among the numerous suburban camps. The Women's Relief Corps opened its headquarters yesterday and received it friends all day. The same was true of all the other headquarters. The Sons of Veterans' camp-flres last night inaugurated the twenty-third National encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic. The handsome auditorium of the West Side Turner Hall, in which the executive sessions of the G. A. R. will be held, was crowded almost to auffocation. A. P. DaYie3, of General Alexander Hayes' Post, No. 3, Pittsburgh, Pa., the founder of the Sons of Veterans, was received with rousing cheers when he oame upon the platform. Prayer was offered by Rev. F. J. Wharton, department Chaplain oí Wisconain. Addresses were made by Lieutenant Kershavir, of Milwaukee; Commander-inChief Warner, General Alger, Corporal Tanner (the Commusioner oí Pensions), Governor Hoard, General Fairchild and others.
