Decline Scott's Offer
Spring Vallet, HL, Sept 10.- The miner held a mass-xneeting Monday and declined to accept Mr. Scott's offer of a fifteen-cent reduction, which, they Bay, with the term proposed, is really a reduction to fifty-five cents a ton. Resolutions were adopted denounuine Mr. Scott's proposition as both unjust and unreasonable, as the men could not make a bare subsletence on th terms offered, and declared that It had not been sufh'ciently demonBtrated that there is any reason or any necessity for such reduction. The resolntions f urther declare that the men areready and willing to resume work on the sama terms as have been accepted by the Streator minera -a reduction oí seven and one-half cents a ton, with the same conditions as last year, the operators charging nothing for house rent during the lockoüt and furnishing coal to miners at cost
