Left With The Funds.
Texarkana, Axk., Sept lü. - Prof. J. Wiss, one of the oldest and best-knowu clfcizans of the town, is absent, and it Is stated that he has decamped, taking with him J37,000 in cash f rom the Texarkana Savings Bank, of whlch he was until lately president and manager. He had puïchased an interest in the lumber business of the Matthews Lumber Company, and became its treaaurer. He also induced his kinsmen to tako large interests in the lumber company, and, it is sald, recetved large sums of oash from them. He was implicitly trusted, was a man ot good habita, and hls escapade as a defaulter causes the greatest surprise.
