Lafayette, Ind., Dec. 30.- Martin L. Piereo, president of the First National Bank of this city, died Saturday night of oíd age. He was born at Portsmouth, N. H., in 1806 and carne West in 1828, being one of the oldest settlers. In 1853 he organized the First National Bank, and has been its continuouS president. He was a thirty-second degred Mason and possessed large wealth.
