Gone out with the tide, on the dark river., Ot, dear heart thou hast left us forever. Left motherless babes and dreary hearth stone, Left weeping kindred, desolate and lone. Beloved , thy life's lessons all are o'er, No tcars can wet thy cheeks on J'irdan's shore. No pain nor sorrow can reach thee there. For angel wings will waft away each care. Oh, eternity bells, eternity bells, Across the years your music swells, Lik healiug irom the Savior's wing, ïhis promise doth thy ringing briug. And in thy chimes th!s healing balm, Falls on thd heart wi h holy calm. Hope on, hope on, for the sweet story rinss. The grave has lost its terrors, death its sting. Then aching hearts that at her grave have wept, And weeping eyes that have long vigils kept, And faithlul memories that cherish dear, The sound of her voice tñt ye no more hear, Be comforted : For ye shall meet once more, By the waters blue near the heavenly shore. Then sleep on beloved, we only leave thee, Till the tlde bears us out to etemity.
