Mr. Liesemer's paper, the Washteaaw Post, contains the following, which we translate for The Register : ' Our esteemeJ and honored friend, Mr. James H. Morris, with whom it has buen our good fortune to have spent many pleasant hours, informed U3 the other evening that he and his norse, "Cret-," hal jit completed 25,000 miles of travel. On the I7th day of March, 1884, Mr. Morris purchased a handaome four years' old mahogany bay mare of Hambletonian and Murgan stock. The animal being very spirited and Mr. Morris a good horseman, both soon became very attached to each other. He soon grew sofond of Crete that he avowed he would never part with her. While traveling over rough and almost impassable roads in the darkeat nights the lutle steed would take the best of care of her master. It oocasionally happened that while Crete was trotting at a good speed the buggy or sleigh tipped over, when she would suddenly top until Mr. Morris had matters arranged so that the journey couU be continued. Crete has alwys shown a dislike to strangers driving her, when she would act badly and attempt to fret awav at the first opportunlty. Sinco Maren 17, 1884, to January 8, 1890, Mr. Morris and his faithlul Crete have traveled 25 000 mile?, the circumference of the eanh. Biu two bugifs have been used to make the tour, an accident bas never occurred and Cre'e who is novv nine years oíd, has not a bleiuish on her. The traveling has been done principally in the counties ol Wnshtenaw, Livingston, Jaekson and Monroe and to some exteut in Lenawee, Hillsdale and Ingham counties. Mr. Mom?, who is now in his 73d year and still in the erjoymsnt of good healtb, is one of the most precise and accurate men we have ever met. He has kept an account each day of the number of miles traveM, over 300 pages of legal cap, closely wntten. were necessary to make the minute. It miht also be of interest to state that Mr. Morris has boarded on the property where the Cook house now stands for over 1Í6 years, he having lost his goo 1 wifa over 30 years aro, and Crete has been kept in a barn adjoining the Cook house since she has been in his pos3esion. Mr. Morris tlnnks the world of his pet, his little Crete.
