SENATE. Washington, Jan. 18.- Mr. Shermao's anti-trust bilí was roported favorably in the Sonate yesterday, as was also the dependent pension bilí. The Florida swamp-land frauds were discussed by Senators Cali and Plumb in an acrimonious manner. Wasüingtox, Jan. 1G.- A reselution was offered in the Senate yesterday to investigate the laws of the United States and of the States relativo to immiaration: also a concurrent resolution providing for the sottlement of disputes between nations by arbitration. The resolution to recognize tho republic of Brazil was readand discussed. Washington, Jan. 17.- In the Senate yesterday bilis were roported for a public building at Milwaukee, to cost $2,000,000, and to establish a customs collection district to consist of the States of North and South Dakota. JXr. Butler spoke on his bilí to provide for the emigration of the negroes of the South at Government expense and Mr. Hoar responded. Adjourned to the 20th. IIOUSE. Wabhihoton, Jan. 15.- In the House yesterday the time was spent in discussing the bilí to refund to members the amount stolen from them by Silcott, the Arms, but no action was taken. A bilí was introduced íor marking with tablets the Unes of battlo and the positions of troops of the Army of Northern Virginia at Gettysburg, and appropriating 8310,000 for the purpose. Washington, Jan. 16.- In the House yesterday the bilí appropriating 875,000 to cover the losses sustained by members by Silcotfs defalcation was defeated by a vote of 142 to 126. Washington, Jan. 17.- In the House yesterday, aíter a long debate, it was decided to leave the World's Fair question in the hands of the comraittee on foreign affairs. Washington, Jan. 18.- In the Housa yesterday a resolution that the Speaker appoint a special committee of nino members to which the World's Fair matters shoiild be referred was adopted - yeas, 141; nays, 136. A bilí was introduced providing for reciprocity in trad betwoen the United States and Mexico. The bill providing for town-sitp entries of land in Oklahoma was discussed. Washington, Jan. In the House on Saturday bilis were introduced loca ting theWorld"s Fair at St. Louis and in relation to the naturalization of aliens. The Oklahoma town-site bill was further discussed and an atnendment was adopted prohibiting United States marshals, deputies or agents from acquiring titles to lots in Oklahoma town sites. Washington, Jan. 21.- In the House yesterday Speaker Reed appointed the following committeo on World's Fair legislation: Candler, of Massachusetta (chairman); Hitt and Springer, of Illinois; Belden and Flower, of New York; Haten and Frank, of Missouri; Bowden. of Virginia; Wilson, of West Virginia. Bills were introduced authorizing the issue of Treasury notes on deposits of silver bullion; to organize the Indian Territory; the Washington World's Fair Wil; appropriating $100,000 for the erection of a monument to the negro soldiers and sailors of the late war; levying a tax on all persons dealing in options on grain, meats, cotton and other products; to divide the State of Kansas into northern and southorn judicial districts. A resolution was introduoed providing that on Thursday, the 23d inst., the clerks shall cali the roll of members, and each member shall indicate his choice for the looation of the World's Fair.
