Under local option all but 03 of the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts have and enforce prohibition. In the 63 cities and towns that voted for license only, one saloon is allowed for each 1,000 population, except in Boston, where the rate is one for each 500 people. If the holder of a license violates the law prohibiting sales after 11 o'clock at night, on Sundays, election days and holidays, he runs the risk of having his license revoked. Mail and Expres, N. Y. But John Koach is in his grave and the democratie papers that hounded him meicilessly while he was living aro as silent as the grave now concerning the proven merits of the ileet, stanch ships which he built.
