Prof. Gibbes ia able to be out again this week. Ed. Gies of Detroit, was visiting (rienda here lest week. John J. Robison f pent S inday in Detroit with hia sons. Geo. Slater of Alpen, has been visilicg relatives here this week. Miss Clara Phelos of Djxter was an Ann A'bor visitor Tuesday. Fred. T. Stimsan went to Toledo Saturday and spent a couple of days. Morris Lantz took a vacation Tuesday, and visited friends out of the city. A. H. Shelmire of Kalamazio, was the guest of nis uncle, B. F. Watts, over Sunday. Prof. J. W. Langley closes his course of lectures on "Metallurgy of S cel," this week. Mr. and Mrp. W. K. Anderson of Detroit spent the latter part of last week in the city. A. J. Paisley, the genial general ticket agent of the T. & A. A., was in the city Saturday. Mrs. Mina B. Sieley of Detroit, a sister of Mrs. P. Bacb, has removed to this city t) spend the winter. Fred. Manke spent last Sunday with friends at Manchester, a eustom he has frequently fallen into lately. Geor?e Greening, wlo ia now practicing law at Alpen, has beea visiting friends in the city this week. Bishop Ireland of Minnesota, is expected to deliver a lecture befare the Foley guild dunng the winter. John B. Hurlbert wasoalled to Youngstown, Ohio, Monday, by a telegram announcing the serious illness of his father. Mrs. Dr. Hartley returned ilonday from Milwaukee, wbere she went last week to atlend the funeral of a grandchild. John Moore, jr., who is now with the Illinois Steel Co. of Chicago as assisstant chemist, visited his parents on Division-at, Saturday. Mrs. Bessie Powers of Grand Rapids, who has been visiting her aunt, Mrs. S. G. Benham of Liberty-st, returned home Saturdar. City Attorney Keatu ' made his first appearance on the streel -turday after a two week's illness with tud grip and pneumonía. J. E. Sullivan, a gradúate of the law department, and John Russell of the Evening News 6taff, carne up from Detroit, Sunday, to visit friends. Mrs. Chas. Ludlow of Detroit and Mrp. Henry Robeson of Port Huron were in the city Saturday, to attend the wedding of their brother, John E. Moore. D. B. Bentley and wife of Chicago, III., spent last week amone; oíd friends in this city, returning home Tuesdsy. This city was their former home and they anticípate moving back here again in the near future. Waltei T. Wright oL Albion was brought to the home of his parents in the fifth ward, llonday evening, to recupérate from a serious illness from which he is just recovering. Prof. and Mrs. J. W. Langley return to Pittsburg again this week, much to their regret. They are pleasantly situated at Pittsburg and like it fairly well, but as Prof. Langley says, "To us the center of the universo is in the immediate vicinity of Ann Arbor of which Pittsburg can be but a suburb at most"
