New Okleans, Maren 1. - The ievees of the Fifth Louisiana district are being sorely pressed by the wind and water, but the people in charge believe that they will hold. A report was brought to town last night of the killing in Chicot County, Ark., of two white men and a negro who were caught cutting Ievees. A private Ie vee in Oak Iiend, fifteen miles below Vicksburg, was broken by the storm Thursday afternoon. The T. J. Williams and Newton Landing plantations are overflowed in consequence, and the Oak Bend, Diamond and Freelands plantations are partially inundated.
