From that colt you aro to get the futare horse. If you intend to build a house you must get a foundation first. We saw men the other day putting great heavy timbe rs under the house of a f riend of ours. We asked hirawhat he intended to do, and he said that he found that the foundation was good for nothing, and that he must put a new one in. That is precisely the way some men attempt to "build" a horse. They noglect the foundation. They neglect to keep tho bones and musplea growing, and we can not put a new foundation under a horse as a man can put one under bis house. If tho foundation oL the horse is faulty, it will never be repaired. Wo have kiuran colts that never rot any in the shape of grata but corn, and oorp is no more fit for a colt as a steady diet than candy is for a child. The colt and all young animáis should haire sweet, tender hay and such grain as oats in winter. This sort of feeding will develop the system. The animal should not bo kept in lll-ventilated stables, nor compvlled to stand in marrare, and tho oíd and oft-repeated advice to beg-in "breaking" the
