Miss Porter is stili on the sick list. The seniora will have a socil at the residenoe of Ross Whitman, on Washtenawave., Friday evemng. A public elocutionary entertainment will be given in the high school chapel, near the end ol this term, by Mre. Trueblood and her classes. Our base ball team, it is said, will soon blossom out with new suits. Considering the past record of the club, we have a right to be pruud of the boys. The appointmeats for the graduating exercises were given out Monday. The honors ware won by the following studeots: Marcus C. Boylan, Altred B. Connable, Rob't. C. Campbell, Thomas E. Goodrich, John E. Hosmer, Carrie Hemenger, Etnma J. McMoran, J. Raleigh Nel-ion, Chas. W. Rickats aad Gertrude Baaderlaod. The death of Miss Nellie Cheever last week cast a shadow of gloom over her many acquaintancasin school. Partof her class honored her memory by attending her funeral in a body. The following was adopted by the class and given to the bereaved motherand brother: IN' MEMORIAM. Whereas our Heavenly Father has seen fit to remove fiom our number our tetecrued friend and class-mate, Nelüe W. Cheever, we. the members of the junior class of the Ann Arborhigh school, do hereby desire to expresa our deep sense of bereavement at our loss. Nellie was ever esteemed by all, who knew her, as a diligent siudent, a consctentious ctirisilan and a true friend. We shall miss her bright presence in the class room. and her cheerful companionship in the social circle. We will ever remember her noble qualities of heart and character, and try to emulute her bright ambltion to live a worthy and useful l'fe.
