Sunday morning, Fred Ehnis visited the house of John Webber, on 8. Main-st, near the toll-gate, and found the doors locked, Webber callmg to him that he could not come in then and telling bim to come arouud the next morning. Ehnis went again Monday moruing, and peerirg through the window saw Webber lying on a couch, his face being covered with blood. A revolver luid on his breast and other appearances showed that Webber had undoubtedly taken bis life. Ehnis immediately notifled the sheriff and John Muehlig, who went to the house, broke opea the door and found Webber dead. The bcdy was removed to Jluthlig's undertbkiEg rooma, where an inquest was held. Webber evidently went at work deliberately to commit suicide. Sunday he spent in drawing his will, which ws a unique dccument mskirg disposal of $12 Ui cash and his personal effects. He then placed two pillows belĂșnd him on a sofa, placed the rauzzle of an ugly lookiog bulldog revolver to his forehead, and pulled the trigger. Death must have been instataneous as his head laid peacelully on the pillows with his hands dropped down. Deepondeucy and constant quarreling between himself and his cbildren, who did not live with him, were probably the causes which led to this rash act.
