The College Almunae
The meeting of the Detroit Branch of the Aseociation of Collegiate Alumca; was held in tbis city, last Friday, with about forty non-resident members in attendance. The business hour was set for 11 o'clock aid was mainly taken up with the reporti of the committees on endowments an fellowships. Miss Arlisle Young holds thii year'8 fellowship at the sum of $300 an( is at present pursuing work at the Uai versity of M chigan. In the sfternoon an appreciative au dience listened with interest to papt rs o '" Social Life in Colleges " by Miss Isabella G. French, Welleeley '83, and Mrs. W. H. E. Emerson, Vassar '72, while Mrs. Alice Freeman Palmer, formerly pres-ident of the Wellesley college and now president of the General Associadon of Collegiate Alumna!, supplemented with an admirable talk on the same subject. In Ihe evening a reception wae tendered Mre. Thomas S. McGraw, the president of the branch, and the visiting inembers at the Delta Upsilon house, from 8 to 11 o'clock. Music was furmshed by the University Glee Club.
