Jay MctJuire epent Sunday at Hasüngs. Miss Emily L. Snaith spent Ust week in Detroit. D. Cramer visited his farm at Hastings, Monday. Ed. Worden returns this week to Sin Francisco, Cal. H. C. Frank, of Tacoma, Washington, is visiting his brother, William L Fratk. Chas. Kaichen, of Chicho, ia spending the week with his sister, Mrs. S. S. Blitz. Wolcer J. Booth has been ecgaged as catcher for the Negawnee base ball team. Miss Helen L Oigood, of Hamburg, was in the city the forepart of the week. Henry Dangler, who has been visiting his father, returned to La Crosse, Wis., yesterday. John Koch, of Koch & Henne, visited his brother-in law, John Benz, of Webster, last week. Prof. and Mrs. C E. Greene gave a reception to a large party of friends, Tuesday evening. Prof. E. F. Lohr, of South Band, Ind., is spending the summer vacation with friends in this city. Miss Fancy Khn, of Bay City. spent several days laat week with Mrs. S. S. Bliiz, on S. Fourth ave. Mrs. J. F. Miller, of Datroit, for many years a re-iiderjt of this city, spent Monday and Tuesday with old acquaintances here. J. T. Jacobs was in New York last week on business, in conneotion with the Todian Commission. He returned Saturday. Mrs. Kiley, of Chicago, wife of one of the proprietors of the Chicago News, is visitint; her son at the Beia Tneta Pi house. Mr. D. B. Tracy, of the C, H. & D E. R , made a pleasant cali at The Regisier office yesterday. He seems to preler railroading to preaching. W. H. Parsons, president of one of the largest iron concerns of St. Louis, Mo., and daughter, MS9 Ida Parsons, spent Monday with Editor Liejemer, oi the Wa8htenaw Post. Prof. Winohell was one of the audience that listened to an excellent memorial address upon the late Justice Campbell by Judge Brown at the Detroit opera house last Tuesday evening. He is now engaged in travling for Parke, Davis & Co., of Detroit, through California, New Mexico and Ari.zona, and claims that no place appears hke home to him except Aon Arbor.
