The Litin play was a big suooess. Oberlin versus U. of M. next Saturday. The election of Argonaut editora will be beid Saturday morning. The election of officers of the Webster Society was held last evening. The parties injured during the recent fracss at tne circus are all recovering. The delegates of the Inter-collegiate Oratorical Association will mest next Saturday.. Mr. A. E Jennings, lit '89, now of Jenu, Germaoy, reports an eight pjund boy bom May 18th. A number of alumni were guests at the fraterniiy houses, Saturday. Tney came to see the Latin play. Prof. Koowlton is now able to be on the streets again. He has been having a hard struggle with the malarial fever. The California students will return to that state at the close of the college year in a body and a special car will be placed at their disposa!. Judge Kinne has set June 1G as the date upon which he will examine the members of the senior Jaw class for admission to the bar. T. Kerl was elected president of the Students' Lecture Association at the meeting Saturday morning. Tne remaining offices will be filled June 16. It was the expectation that the facul'.y would take some efficiënt action last iionday night on the recent circus row, but nothing was determined upon. A week from next Saturday the Shiawasse county teachers, some two hundred strong, will visit the University. Rumor has it that thoy will take possession of the city. The Universities defeated the D. A. C. at base ball, Friday afternoon, by a score of 19 to 6. The morning game was not played becausa the suits of the Detroit nine did not arrive. The supporters of the Independents' paper met last Saturday and ad opted a con8titution. Bannon, the eubstitute p:tcher of the Universities, did some fine woik against the Agricultural College team at Lansing last Saturday, they only being able to gei four hi's from his delivery. The Cjoley Club, a recent organizaron among the juniors of the law department held a banquet last Friday evening, W. H. There were about 1200 persons present at TJniversicy Hall last Öturday eveni' g, ti witness the first production on t.iis side of the Atlantic of the Latin play, "The Mericihmi" ot Plautus. Messrs. Smith and Parmly as the twin brothers, and Mr. Meader as Cylindru, made hits. The incoDgruity of the bass voices and femile attires of the gentlemen who took fetn 1 - parts was the cause ot much mirth until the audience bt'caine accustomed to it That the rendition of the play was s succesa goes without f-ajing and those who took part were aaiply repaid for the vast amount of time spent in preparation by the reoption giveu them by the audience.
