Havana. May 30. - A violent storm has visited the western part of the island. It lasted thirty-six hours, during which the rain feil in torrent3 and without cessation. The waterfall is estimated at eighteen inches. All streams have overflowed their banks. Miles of country are covered with water. Cities and towns in the low lying regions are inundated. Hundreds of buildings havo suceumbed to the floods. Many people have been drowned and many injured by the collapse of their dwellings. Large plantations have been destroyed and store-bouses with all their contonts swept away. The loss of property is incalculable.
