Drowned At Bush Lake
Three young men, Will Lapham, Bert Ryan and Warner Halleck, were sailing oa Bush Lake, near Howell, on Sunday last. About four o'olock in the afternoon, their boat caosized, throwing ail three in the water. Lspham and Ryan clung to the boat and were saved, but Halleck struck out bravely for the thore. Ile did not succeed in reaching i', howevor, and afĂer a few strokes, satik to risa no more. Hi: body was found on Monday. There ws a bad bruise on bis face, which indi cates that he wa9 struck by (be boom when he first rose. Ilis funeral was held on Tuesday. Halleck was an Ann Aibor boy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hblleck, of 4 Thompson-st. He was only nineteen years okl In '87 he graduated from the high school, and gpent the following year in the literary dtpurtment of the Univer eity. At the time of his death, he had charge of his father's plumbing business at Holly. He was a young man of great promise, and his untimely death will be mourned by all who knew him.
