St. Paul, Minn., July 8.- A few minutos after 9 o'clock Monday morning a tornado swept over a section of North Dakota ;ind Western Minnesota fifty miles .vide. 'Die terrific force of the een tor of the storm was first feit at Dalryniplc. Caaaelton and Wueatland, small stations on tho Northern Pacific line twenty to thirty miles west of Fargo. Tho wind swept along, doing considerable damaje at Mapleton, Fargo and Moorhead, and spent itself on the prairies of Minnesota near Glyndon and Muskoda. The track of tho storm is marked by the unroofing of depots and elevators, the destruction of small wooden buildings and the complete paralysis of the telegraph service for fifty miles east and west and twenty miles north and soutb. It is learned that the damage to ptoperty was heavy and that several people were injured, some of ihem fatally. A passenger train in Fargo was blown from the track and sixteen persons were hurt, some seriously. Mapi.eton, N. D., July 8. - Nearly every building in town bears marks of the storm. No one seriously, but a number badly hurt. Dukbin, N. D., July 8. - Heavy hailstorm, accompanied by winds, struck here Monday. Great damage was done to crops of all kinds. The track of the hail-storra was about two and a half miles wide and twenty miles long. Whkatlaxd, N. D., July 8.- Numerous buildings were blown down and the damage to crops by hail was considerable. Ayk, N. D., July 8. - Nine mules and two horses were killed by one flash of lightning which ran along a wire fence, striking the animáis huddled together in a corner. General Sargent"s barn, 60x125, was completely demolished and the contents, consisting of farm machinery and utensils, were scattered far and wide. WIXD-RTORM IN' W18COJT8IK. Ashland, Wis., July 8. - A violent wind-storm, amounting in places almost to a cycloné, and accompanied by an extraordinary electrical display, passed over the Lake Superior district early Monday morning at Houghton. Outbulldings, trees and fences were demolished. At Lake Linden lightning struck theresidenco of Jerry Vignaux, destroying the house and seriously injurinff two members of tho family. FLOOD IN' WKST VilMiJNIA. Parkershi i;c, W. Va., July 5. - The fourth destructive storm of the week passed over this part of the county Friday, doing much damaje to streets, flooding collars and sweeping away crops. The Kanawha valley and Muskingum valley were deluged. The loss from the floods of the week is estimated in the Muskingum valley at 8500,000. CLOUD-BVHKT IN NEW .IKIiSEY. Milfokd, N. J., July 7. - A cloudburst near here caused damage to the amount of S100,000. The creek that runs through the town overflowed and flooded the streets. Several buildings were carried away and bridges washed out A daughter of VV. H. Slater was drowned.
