St. Pao.. Minn., July 28. - The Republican State convention held here Thursday notninated the following ticket: Governor, W. R. Merriam; Lieutenant-Governor, C. 8. Ives; State Treasurer, Joseph Bobleter; Secretary of State, V. P. lirown; State Auditor, P. J. McGuire; Attorney-Generul, MosesE. Clapp; Clerk of Supremo Court, C. B. Holcomb. The platform indorses the State and National administration; favors reciprocity with South America; claims that the high-licenso s.ystem of Minnesota is the best means of controlling the liquor traffic yet adopted; favors the exclusión of undesirable immigrants; favors the reduction of the rate of interest on muney; indorses the introduction of the manufacture of twine into the State prison; denounces all monopolies and trusts, and advocates the placing on the free list of any commodities that may at any time become tbe subjects thereof; favors the regulation of interstate eommerce of coramon carriers; pledges the party to secure luws that will free the people from the vexations and exactions of monopolies, and particularly to secure the n duction of rates on graln, lumber and coal; approves the Australian ballot system for the whole State; recognizos the services of the soldier and indorses the disability pension law introduced and championcd by Senator Davis; favors free text-books jn the public schools and flrmly opposes any Federal legislation designedtorestriut the competition of Canadian with domestic common carriers. m; ni: a ska EEPTJBLICAH8. Lincoi.n, Neb., July BS.- The platform adopted by the Republican State convention reiterates the principies enunciated in the successive National Republican platforms from 1856 to 1888. )t indorses President Harrison's Administration; approves National legislation of the silver question; denounces the trusts; indorses the disability pension bilí, and declares in favor of a service pension bill. It demands honest elections and favors the Australian ballot as a means tbereto. It opposes land monopoly and recognizes the right of labor to organizo, favors the control of railroads by legislation, demands the enactment of laws defining theliability of employers for injuries sustained by workmen; dtmands the just taxation of corpora te proper ty; reduction of freight and passender rates; the establishment of a system of postal telegraphy and favors the enactment of more stringent usury laws. A resolution indorsing prohibition was tabled and the platform is silent on that question. The following ticket was nominated, after which the convention adjourned: Governor, L. D. Richards; Socretary of State, J. C. Allen, of Red Willow: State Auditor, Thomas H. Benton, of Dodge; Treasurer, Captain J. E. Hill, of Gage; Attorney General, H. H. Hastings, of Saline; Land Commissioner, George Humphrey, of Custer; State Superintendent, A. K. Gawdy, of Webster.
