Wm. P. Brown was bom at West Walton, countj' of Norfolk, England, December 31, 1813; diedathishomeinthetown of Ann Arbor, Mich , August 31, 1890, after a severe ïllness of ten days. He carne to this country at the age of twenty-three. In a diary we found the following linea from his pen: God bless the land where I was bom, I blees the huid that led me here ; God bless my uew, adqpted home, And bless me while I sojourn here. He experienced religión at the age of sixteen, andjoinedtheWesleyanchurch in Engliind, and was connected with the Methodist church at Ann Arbor, Mich., flfty-two years. He leaves a widow and four children (two sons and two daughters) to mourn their loss. His genial, kindly nature won for him a large cirele of friends. He had words of chear and encouragement for all that were in trouble, and to many who were in need has he reached forth a helping hand, with more substantial aid. His consistent, uprigh t Ch ristian character is a legacy worth more than any earthly possessions to bequeath to his children. As a faithful, true husband, a kind and loving father, we deeply mourn his loss. We know that to him death is the beginning of a higher life. Asleep in Jesus ; far from thee Thy kindred and their graves may be, But thine is still a ble&sed sleep Frem whieh none ever wake to weep. ' W Alvah Traver, eminent commander, Thomas II. Will, past grand commander, and several other Knights Templar from Jackson spent Tuesday evening in this city. The order of the Temple was conferred upon a candidate from the Ann Arbor comtnandery by Eminent Sir Knight Traver.
