After a lingering illness," borne with the sweetest patience, Lillie M., oldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Corydon L. Ford, passed into eternal rest, November 3d, 1890, in the twenty-first year of her age. "She has passed away, Llke a gentle brath, And her eyes are closed with the sleep of deatb; The leaves on the trees will flutter and fall, And the driftlng snows will cover all. Butshe will peactfully, calmly rest, Forever happy, By angela biest. Jast in the spring Of woinanhood. Tender and loving, and wlse and good Ah ! too good for the sinful earth ! Only the angels knew her worth, 80 they have called her unto them, Decking her brow With a diadem. Better to smile When such a Ufe Gives up the battle of earthly strife. Better to know Ibat her tasks are done, Trials ended and glory won; Tears are valn, when a soul so brlght Wlngs lts way To the gates of light. She has passed away, But her sweet good will, Llke a fragrant odor lingera still ; The tender lesson that memory brlngs The mantle of patience o'er us flinge. We learn to folio the path she trod, To be more llke her, Who has gono to God."
