In Holland Mich., C. J.Doesbury publishes the News, and in its columns strongly recommends Dr. Thomas' Eclectric Oil for coughs, colds, sore throat, catarrh and asthma. Mr. Joseph Pulitzer, of the New York World, has recovered the sight of one eye. It is a JHfstake To try to cure catarrh by using local applications. Catarrh is not a local but a constitutional disease. Itis not a disease of the man's nose, but of the man. Therefore, to effect a cure, requires a constitutional remedy like Hood's Sarsaparilla, which, acting through the blood, reaches every part of the system, expellin the taint which causes the disease. and imparting health. Patience and good nature always help one to enjoy amateur theatricals. A Bnrglar Captnred. This morning about twoo'clock, John Wood, the well-known plumber who resides on Main-st., was awakened by hearing glass break. On getting out of bed he received a blow on the head. He immediately grappled with the burglar, and after a terrible struggle succeeded in holding him until his wife obtained help. On being searched at the station, Mr. Wood's watch and wallet were found on h3 person. He gave the name of Robert Terry. The broken glass proved to be a bottle of Sulphur Bitters which hadalmost cured Mrs. Wood of Rheumatism.- Exchangc . Affectation makes the girl of the period utterly ridiculous in the eyes of all sensible people she meets. The Good Old Tlnies. " Then times were good. Merchante cared Dot a rush For any other fare, Tban Johnny cake and mush." But now times have changed, and the plain and simple fare of the forefathers is done away with. Patent flour, and high seasoned food, and strong drinks, have taken its place, and, as a reduit, dyspepsia, impure blood, and diseases of stomach, liver and lungs are numerous. This great change has led one of the most skillful physicians of the age to study out a remedy for these modern diseases, which he has named his "Golden Medical Discovery." Dr. Pierce in this remedy has found a cure for Dyspepsia, Bronchitis, Asthma, Oonsumption, in its early stages, and " Liver Complaints." What used to be dancing is now in alleged best and most fashionablecircles simply moving about the floor to slow waltz music and extracting as much out ot the performance as possible before the band stops. And the man with the sharppointed elbows and the awkward feet is yetalive. A Merlied it ■■■. From time to time for some months past we have called attention to the mammoth advertisement of Dr. Fruth which appears in our columns. In these notices we have purposely refrained from the expression of a personal opinión of the Doctor. His continued yisits to our city and the constantly increasing numbers that throng at each succeeding visit, coupled with the important fact that not a word of dissatisfaction has come to our ears from any one of his patients, makes it a duty to our readers that we personally cali attention to the work the Doctor is doing. The evidences in our community of his superior skill are but the legitímate results of his years of experience and training in the principal centers of medical learning. Those who have not consulted Dr. Fruth should certainly not fail to do so. A consultation will cost you nothing, and it may be Ihe means of bringing you health and happiness. Dr. Fruth will be at the Cook House from 10 A. M. to 9 P. M. 0 Sympathy always goes out to the "kept-back daughter" in fashionable families where there are more than one. A Ctaance to Jliikc nonej.
