Washington, Jan. 9. - The President has granted a pardon to William Edward Gould, who was convicted in Portland. Me., ín 1888 of embezzling 8100,000 from fte J'irst National Bank, of which he was cashier. lie was senteneed t:i ten years' imprisonment in the State prison.
