WIIAT THEY DE8IEE. Washington, Jan. 24. - The committeen on confederation of labor organizations reassembled Friday morning'. Aíter considerable debate the demands of the new joint organization were finally agreed upon and ratified as follows: "1. We demand the abolition of National banks as banks of issue, and as a substitute for National -bank notes we demand that legal Treasury notes be issued in sufflclent volume to transact the business of the country without damage or especial advantaje to any class or calling.such notes to be legal tenderin payment oí all debts, public and private, and such notes, when demanded by the people, shall be loaned to them at not more than 2 per cent. per annum upon nonpenshable products as indlcated in the sub-Treasury plan und also upon real estáte, with proper limitations upon the guantity of land and amount of money. "8. We demand a freo and unlimited coinage of silver. "3. We demand the passage of laws prohibiting allen ownership of land, and that Congress take prompt action to devise some plan to obtain all lands nuw owned by allens and foreign syndicates, and thut all lands held by railroads and other corporations in excess of such as is actually used and neoded by them be reclaimed by the Government and held for actual settlers only. "4. Believiug in the doctrine of equal rights to all and Bpeolal privileges to none, we demand that taxation, National, State or municipal, shall not be used to build up one interest or class at the expense oí another. "5. We demand that all revenues, National, State or county, shall bo limited to the necessary expenses of the Government economically and honestly administered. "6. We demand a just and equitable system Of graduated tax on incomes. '7. We demand the most rtgid, honest and just National control ad supervisión of the means of public commnnication and transportation, and if this control and supervisión does not remove the abuses nowexisting we demand the Government ownership of such means of communicatiou and trunsportatton. "8. We demand that the Congress of the United States submit an amendment to the constitution providing for the election of United States Senators by the direct vote of the people of e;:ch State; also the President and Vice-rresidi nt by the popular vote. "Resolved, That this confederation of industrial organizations demand that in each State a system shall bo provided and faithfully executed that will insuru an honest and accurate registration of all voters, a free, fair, secret and official ballot und an honest public count; and we demand that e&ch State Legislaturo Bhall make it a felón; foi any lmproper intiTference with t!:o eierolse of the registration, ballot or count." A permanent organization was then f ormed by the election of Ben Terrell, of Texas, as president, and J. W. Hayes, of Pennsylvania, as .secrotary and treasurer. The araalgamatod oryanizations will be lmown as the Confederation of Industrial Organizations.
