Many people, particularly those of small means, regard banks with distrust, and prefer to keep their savings ander personal supervisión. One of these folk?, Mrs. Kepner, of Johnsonville, Rock county, Wis., had to leave the house during the absence of her husband. and put $195 in the stovepipe for safe keeping. She did not think of the money after returning to the house, and a few days later told her little daughter to start a fire in the stove.
