Terrible Tragedy

ChBYEKKB, Wyo., April In a fight between .lames McDermott and Torn Mailden in tlu liig Horn basin McDermott's 4-year-old son was used by his father as a shield and was fatally wounded. McDermott aud his wife had a violent quarrel, and the woinan fled to Madden's ranch lor protoction. She was followed by her enraged husband. carrying his little son Phil. When he was sighted by Madden the latter went out and attemptad to parley with the angry man. McDerraott immediately began ñring at Madden. When Madden retm-ned the fire McDermott pressed liis son to his heart for a s;ield. Madden's builet struck the boy's sktüL killr ing hiin, and, 'lancing1, struck McDermott i 3i th ■ tally wonnded him.
