UIGin.Y HONOBED. Santabárbara, Cal.. April 25. - Yesterday the president and the members of his party, with Gov. Markham and those accompanying him, were driven about the principal streets of Pasadena and through several orange groVes. Along the streets the school children threw thousands of roses, calla liíies and orange blossoms in the pathwav Of the presiden t's earriage and fairly filled tfye vehicle with flowers. Upon arrival in this city a procession was formeil at the station cömposed of a cavalcade of Spanish citizens in their native costumes, the local grand army post, and a brigade of children and citizens in gaylydecorated carriages. The party was first escorted to the Promenade des Anglais, a beautiful drive bordered on both sidos with rnountains, dotted with picturesque villas. Here they witnessed a battlo of flowers - a spectaele new to this country, but familiar to all visitors to Niee during carnival week. The engagement was partieipated in by ladies and gentlemen in open carriages. so covered with flowers and green that they were completojy obBcured, even to wheels and luim Each carriage was provided with a pi'bfusiou oí small bouqnets, and as they passed each ether the occupants threw flowers with zest and precisión. A visit to the old Santa Barbara mission was then made, and after a public reception at the hotel the party left for San Francisco. San Francisco, April J7.- President Harrison was welcomed to San Francisco tïaturd.'iy night by a great display of enthusiasm. At the pavilion the president was received by Gov. Markham, Mayor Sanderson, Senator Stanford and others. The crowd was immense, nul ;m informal ivception wás held, the military forming in Unes, between whlch u steady stream of people passed for over an hour. Yesterilnv the president and Mrs. Harrison accompaüiied Mayor Sanderson and Mrs. Sanderson to the First Presbyterian ehurch. The remainder of the dav the president spent in his TOöms át the Pafacè hotel. San Francisco, April 28. - Yi 'sterday the presidential party drove from the Palace hotel to Van Ness avenue, where the public school ehildren were assembled for reviow. The children were drawn up in line on both sides of the street for many blocks and heartily cheered President Harrison. In the evening there was a reception at the Palace hotel. The president and Mrs. Harrison received representatives of the army and navy íirst and then a large nuniber of invited guests.
