Fbemokt, Neb., .lune 6. - Charles Shepherd and Chris Pursi werehanged here for the muriler of ('arlos T. Pulsifer, an agcd farmer near Crowell.Neb. ï'ulsifer v;is quite wealthy and as therc was 110 bank in that village he carried his moni'y with him at night. The two men planned to rob him, and on the night of Deeember 10, 1889, they waylaid and shot him down, robbing the body of twenty1 dollars, which was all he had. Gov. Thayer refused to lnterfere with the findings of the court and ordered out the militia to protect the sheriff at the execution, and to keep the poople from tearing down the stockade in which the murderers were ha&ged. Hoth men confessed their guilt on the seaffold.
