St. Johx, N. B., June 13. - Forest fires are raging with unabated fury in the northern section oí the province. Unless there is an immediate and heavy fall of rain mueh additional damagc must follow. Over 100 miles of country have been made desolate, and amoag the poor settlers it is a case of ruin. The result will be severely feit by the lumber men, as many valuable timber areas have been twept away. Never in the history of the provinee has such damage been caused by fires in the forests, and a bad feature is that none of the settlements have any adequate means oí quenching the flames.
