San Francisco. July 31. - The Calloway canal burst its banks near Hakersfield. Kern county, Sunday. An immense volume of water swept over the ranches and fruit farms in the vicinity. Several hundred acres are under water 4 f eet deep. The damage so f ar is $30,000.
