Bakbbspield, Cal., July '.!■". - Mrs. Jonathan Curnow, living on a ranch ncar here, Tharaday attempted to start a fire with kerosene when an explosión occurred and she was wrappcd in flames trom hcad to foot She rushed toward a pool of water, but bcfore she reached it her elothes were burned off and her flrsh was terribly charred. She then found the house on fire, in which her two children were sleeping. With bleeding hands and entirely naked she pumped water and extinffuished the flames and su ved her children.
