Boston, Nov. 3. - The doors of the MaverieU national bank swung open yesterday morning just long enough to admit Alfred Ewer, the national bank examiner. and such officers and clerks as were necessary to assist him in his business. Then they were elïectually closed. The visit of Mr. Ewer wu to take possession of the bank in the name of the United States and by order of the coraptroUer of the currency. The liabilities of the bank are placed at 88,000,000 and aascts at 51,400, OOOi Asa P. Potter, the prcsiJent; Jon ai H. Freneh and Thomas T)ana, director, were arrctcd on tho charge of embezzlincr 2.000,000.
