With the statement that he wou] d reserve the d''Hvery of liis animal address the president proceeded to deliver a brief address of welcome. It was, he said, the largest oonvention of the federation in its history. The ffrowth of the organization during the past year luid been phenomenal and the delejjates before him representad more tlian threequarters of :i raillion of ora-anized labor. He gave a hearty uelcoine to the delegatea und urgedthem to return to their different organizations determined to push onward and upward for the linprovement of labor.
