The cry of the operators is "No surrender," and tlie men, almost in a starving1 conditlon, are deterrained to keep on fightinf?. It is an absolute faet that the strikers and their families have been for the last two weeks trying to keep soul and body togethcr on one meul a duy, and that a very scant one. ,This is true of close on 20,000 men, ivomen and children who are affected by the strike. Atllarmonj', Clay City, Lodi. Watson Block, Perth, Carbon and Knightsville the scènes which confront one are pathetic in the extreme.
