A Bad Smash
Last Sunday afternoon an accident tbat might have had most serious consequences occurred on Forest-ave, corner of llill-st. Mr. Harry W. Dougla?, had been out for a long drive with his sisters and a friend. They were ia a surrey drawn by one of r.Holmes' teams. The horses were spirited and started up very briskly as they approached their stable, and became for a moment umnanageable, turning on to Forest-ave at a rattling pace. The cross-walk is very high and a very severe jolt landed the whole party in the street and the carriage bottom side up, Miss Allie Doaglas was carried unconscious to Mr. Holmes' house and Drs. Ureakey and Vaughansummoned. Her injuries were found not to be dangerous. They all sustain ed uncomfortable bruises and scratches. The horses turned into their stable completely wrecking the surrey.
