Disastrous Storm In Iowa
Dubuque, Ia., June 12. - The most severe rainstorm that has visited this seotion in twenty years was expenenced here Saturday morning. The damage in Dubuque will amount to many thousand dollars. Farms on the low lands in this county are flooded and all crops are destroyed. In this city cellars were inundated and streets washed out. At Rockdale all the farms in the vicinity were flooded and chickens, farm implements and all loose attachments were earried away iÊ the flood. Peter Werner's saloon in the valley was earried down stream and Mr. llines' new dwelling was earried off its foundation and floated against the Illinois Central bridge. Mrs. Hines, her two children and another woman rushed to the second story for safety, where they were rescued later.
