Washington, Mareh 27.- Senator Alfred H. Colquitt, of Macón, Ga., wlio was stricken with paralysis for the sccond time about a week ago, died at his residence here at 7:iO a. m. yusterday. tMr. Colquitt was born in Walton county. Ga., April 20, 1813. He graduated {rom Prlnceton college In the class of 1844 and was admittea to the bar In 184 . During the Mexican war he served as a statf offlcer with the rank of mujor. He was a member of the 8ecession convention of the state of Georgia and later entered the confedérate service. He was elected governor of Georgia in Ie76, served four years and was reelected under the new constitution for two years. At the ex piration of hia term os governor he was elected to the United States senate for the term commencing Maren 4, 1883, and was reelected in 1888. His term of service would have enirired Maren 3, 1895. He leaves a wlfe, one son and four daughters.l
