The Borlin pólice have adopted a neat way of stopping the sale of poisonous preparations without proceedings ayainst the advertisers with the machinery of the law. They insertin each newspaper under the advertisement an announcement to the effect that they have causecl an analysis to be made, and that tha article advertised is compoaed of soand-so, and its intrinsic value is so much. A case in point was a cosmetic for the complexion, mainly a solution of corrosivo sublímate, which is a poison, but which is sold at enormous profit by the manufacturera. The pólice, it appears, do not interfere in the case of harmless preparations. They leave the buyer to hia own resources.
