At the time of the death of Mrs. Eliza Marsh, two or three years ago, ther was considerable searchfor grovernmen bonds which her friends had reason to believe were secreted in her house. The aged woman made many efforts to communicate something that troubled her, and seemed to be trying to indicate where something should be found, but was unable to make herself under 3tood ; and all search was unavailing She deeded the property to her nephew Mr. Houghton, of Cleveland, who wa iere at the time of her death, anc whose mother had cared for her during ler illness. Mr. Houghton lately sold the place 204Cross-st. east, for $1000, to O. E Thompson, who is repairing the interior of the house. In the process of the work, tearing the paper froin the north wall of a living room, disclosed a secret compartment, formed by an old-fashoned clock case set in the wall anc concealed by the paper. Within that were papers, said to be U. S. bonds, )ut Mr. Ben Thompson, who was pres ent,superintending the work, and Chas. Hubbard who tore off the paper, decline now to state what was found. To the roperly authorized parties they will of ourse disclose the contenta of the ecret cranny which they found, and ntil then the very natural public
