The city council held a long session last Monday night. It was well on towards the midnight hour when an adjournment was had. Besides a lot of routine work the question of a main sewer in the Fifth Ward came up again. It came in the shape of a petition, signed by 95 residen ts iu that ward. that no sewer be built, at least, at present. However, after much discussion, and in the lace of the petition of i5 resideats and tav-payers in the Fifth Ward the forrner decisión to build the sewer was not rescinded. The last part of the late session was taken by the council in listening to a wordy war between sheriff Judson and Marshall Banfield. These two had not agreed about some prisoners in the coun'y jall. It was then proposed in the council that the city build a jail of its own. Tlüs it is see-ns will probably be done.
