The Municipal Club held a meeting last night and elected oiïicers for the next year. Prof. G. P. Coler will preaoh next Sunday morning and evening at the Church of Christ. Last Monday morning two freight trains collided at Dexter. The smash up was due to the air brakes On one of the trains refusing to work. No lives were lost. Two loaded freight cars were wrecked and then caught fire and were burned. We received Monday a long article condemning the course the marshal ;ook in the case of the city against a Mr. Koon. With the article carne the request from a large number of citiens that the same be published. Wishing to give the marshal a fair show we gave him an opportunity to eply. Not having room for both in this week's issue, they were left over. The Burns' anniversary concert given last Mond&y night by the Unity Club was largely attended and greatly enjoyed by all. Speaker Gordon, of the 3tate legislature, was unable to meet lis appointment, but hi9 place was well filled by Dr. D. A. MacLachlan, who gave some very interesting remarks upon tho home and haunts of Burns. !very other part of the long program, vhich lastod until after eleven o"clock, was highly enjoyed, very few leaving ntil the entire program wbs complotd.
