The Prohibition state convention of Ohio, with 700 delegatea was held at Spring Held. The teinporary organization was made withthe Rov. llenrietta (;. Moore, of Springfleld, a.s chairman. She is probably the fir.st woman to be chairman of a state political conveatiou in the United States. She spoke for nearly in lionr. and said the inission of the Prohibition party is to secure the offices so as to overthrow the Hquor traiïic. enfranchise women. secure jovernment control oí all means of transportation and commumcation. to silenee all monopolies, to establish a financial system that will issue money to the people in sutl'nüent quantity for all their needs, remonetize silver and make all money legal for all purposes. Among the nominations made are: U. S. senator, K. 8. Thompson, of Springfield; governor. Seth II. Kllis, of .Springborn, Warren county: lieutenant-governor, J. VV. Sharp, of Mansfield: attorney-general, W. C. ISates, of Columbus, and supreme court judge, John T. Moore, of Jackson county.
