Two Men Lynched For Criminal Assault
John Halls, Jr. , and VVilliam Ko3-oe, the two young men of unsavory reputation, assaulted Miss Laura lïennett and Miss Liilian Draper at Danville, 111. They were arrestedand locked up, and about 'i a. m. were taken by a molí and hanged to the Gilbert street bridge, the soene of their crime. They would not jump and they were both thrown over the bridge rail ing. 1'hey dropped 30 feet and death followed, both expiring in fearful convulsions. The inob wus composed of a thousand people, mostly tarmers. from near the village of Iinliauola, where Mi.ss Uarnett lived.
