Anna Rossman. a beauttful wonian bout 22 years old, was found walking he Etreeis of Denver in a tomnambu litic conditlon on a recent afternoon, ays the Rocky Mountain News. A tallan fruit vender noticed the BtranR onduct of the young lady near thu corner of lóth and Arapahoe streets. he walkrd into the drug store at th rr.ining exchange, the pólice were notlncï and the patiënt was taken to her ïorr.e. The case is a very peculiar one, and has brfore been brought to the atention of the pnliee department during he past two months. On account of the amily, all mention of the matter has, unti! tuis time, been suppressed. It i.s evident, however, that the somnambuIstlc tendencies of the unfortunate woman have become chronlc and the peculiar features of the attack are attracting the attentioi, of physlcians. Miss Rossman formerly llved in Fueblo. There she attracted attention by her strange performances, walking about the streets apparently awake, but really asleep and totally unconsciou of where she was going. Removing tt. Denver, the same conduct was continued, and (he family then went to Cheyenne. They again came to this city and settled at the place where they now reside. It is claimed by the friends of th afBicted woman that she is possessed of supernatural powers, lf gifted with second sight, and that jther strawe phenomena are within oer control. In these spells she wouK. attract but Hitla attention were it n't for the fact that she is utterly obvious of passing ob iects and walk? Aefore carrlages, street cars and othe vehicles wlth recklessness. Otherwie her appearance 1b that of a person la possession of her normal senses. A little over a month ago Bhe was found at the union depot, and TardmaEter Pierce discovered that she was not aware of where Bhe was. A ■arriare was callea, she was taken to the pólice station, and afterward to her home. Again on the 7th of March she wis found in a similar conditlon at the 'lenarm hotel. One day when Dr. Johnson, Mie pólice surgeon, was in a restaurant, Miss Rossman walked In and the waiter thought that she was intoxicated. Grasping the sHuatlon, Dr. Johnson left his meal, took the patient's arm, and quletly walked wlth her to her home, Miss Rossman fiefng all the while utterly oblivious of the notice she was oc?asionlng from bystanders. The young lady had come írom Cheyenne Just before her latest sleep-walking experience. and walked from the depot to the place where lt was found that she was still asleep. No Information could be gained as to what she had been doing at Cheyenne or whether Bhe ha'3 made that trip in a somnambulistic state. When the ambulance came to the mining exchange Miss Rossman was taken quletly to the convejrance and realized nothing of the sltuatlon untll her home was reached. She then awakened out of the deep sleep, bul gave no particular as to her sudden visit north. She ia a beautiful blond, has the sympathy of all who know her in the unusual affllction whlch has befallen a woman who Is said to be possesBed of a bright mlnd. When thes fits have passed away she knows noth Ing of what has transplred.
