Mu. Kditok: - Withyour permission. I would like to say a few words about our eelebration at the Connty House. As early as toar a. m. an oecasional fire-crackera was heard in different places aronnd the yard, but the sport of the ilay began in the woman's department about nine o'olock, when our Emraa (a young rolored girl who has been saving her pennies for several weeks) brought out a half dozen bunehes of lire-crackers and made the house ring. Alter a bountiful dinner we were treated to Bananas and lemonade, the former a present to us frotn Casper Kinwho also eontributed a line lot of Kreworks for the evening. which togfcther with one dollar'a worth from Miss H. T. (an emjiloyee) furnished the inmates quite a nica entertainment. There were roman cündles beautiful ■lored, wheela, chaserg, more firecraekrs which had been hidden throujïh the day, appearinr in great Vi'ofusion all at once to the mortal terror of poor Frank who imagined he was burning up, but hc did his share by singing the sweet By-and-By in response to repeated calis for a song. Thiswasthc flnal and aignal for retiring. After three ronsing cheers for the stnger the oompany dispersad each to their apérate placo-, and aoon all were bound asleep. We wish to ttiank Mr. ilinsey for his thoughtfulness, also a frlend who furcished candy all around. Inmate of Hospital Ward.
