An unknown man hanged hlmself at Lake, Wis. Miss Elizabeth Allen, a public schpol teacher, committed suïcide at Müwaukee while despondent. Mrs. Hooley, 60 years old, of South Rockford, UI., jumped into a well. She was rescued and though injured will probably recover. An unknown man waded out Into the lake near Ludington, Mich., and shot himself dead. He was well dresse'd, though there Is nothing to iHdlcate his identity. Riley Watson, who murdered Albert McComas in Lincoln County, W. Va., and a desperate character, was captured at Gallipolis, O. Mrs. Mabel Ish was held at Omaha for the murder of W. H. Chapple. She pleaded not guilty. Two masked men attciipted to rob Kick Whalen at Emporia, Kan. He ran and escaped, but was slightly wounded by a pistol shot. Irene Salor, 15, shot herself in her room at No. 6 Fletcher avenue, Indianapolis. She will die. L. H. Farmer and hls wife will die at Mridian. Miss., from injuries received f rom two negr. es. Thomas Norvllle, colored, was hanged In jail at Mobile, Ala., for murdering Louis Coleman last summer. John Case, an ex-convlct, living seventeen miles east of Rlddles, Ore., was arrested chargod with robbing the Oregon express Monday night. Case has been positlvely identlfled by the train hands. Frederick Hellman, a brlck masón, of Chicago, shut hls wlfe and four chlldren In a room wlth hlmself and turned on the gas. All were dead when found. He is thought to have been lnsane. In a flght at a Fourth of July picnic at Siberia, Ind.t three men were killed and many persons injured, some of whom will die. The fight began between Catholics and antl-Catholics. A quarrel over a woman in a beer garden at Lewlston, Dl., resulted in a free fight with knives and guns, in which many persons were hurt. Two local toughs at Burlington, Iowa, reslsted arrest. In the flght that ensued one of them was shot fatally. The $1,700 in notes and papers fiolen from W. A. Pratt at Trout Park, near Elgin, 111., by pickpockets June 9 were found there, evidently where the thiei threw them. James Parsons, of Rockford, 111., aged 21, disappeared two weeks ago and his relativos fear he has either ended his Ufe or been foully dealt wlth.
