The canipaign liar wil! have a hard time in England after the passage of the bill pending in pailiament which ïorbids him to exercise hls talent. It imposes a fine of $500 and loss of suffrage for five years as penalties for lisseminating slandera against a canHdate for office. It makes no difference whether the slander is original with the person who utters it or not, he is Hable to the above penalty if he circulates or repeats it, unless he can show that he had good reason for believing it to b fcrué.
