Dispatches from the scène of war in Cuba are very conllicting. It only teems reasonuble that the Spaniards having control of most of the news sources should color inforination to snit themselves. Here are some of the latest dispatcb.es: Havana: Gen. Navarro engaged the insurgents near Cobre and routed them witta ülightloss. The coffee plantations of Nuevo Songo and Magdalena have been burned by the insurgents. At Invista Hermosa 500 insurgente attacked Jlaj. Arminian with 100 men ind after an hour's fighting wcrc forced to retire with a loss of 88 killed and 40 wounded. The Spaniards lost four killed and nine wounded. New York: A special froin Havana says everybody knows that some great battle have been fought lately somewhore on the island, but particulars of them are kept from tlie public. There are rumors that a Spanish column of over 1,000 men, presumably commanded by Gen. Suarez Valdes, was defeated by a forcé of insurgents near the border between Puerto l'rincipe and Santiago province. (en. Suarez Valdes is reported to have been either wounded or taken prisoner. There has been severe fighting alto between the towns of Sibanicu. Cascorro and Guaimaro. All three places ivero burned to the ground by the insurfrent. New Vork: After a test of dynamite balloons which was claimed to be very sucöessful, the New York Cuban Libre èlub have placed in the hands of the manufacturers a large order of balloons and rockets with a f uil compliment of dynamito cartridges to be ready f or shipment July 25. The brig l'earl, used in the transportation of sugar between New York and Cuban, and South American ports, has been seized by l'. S. officers at Hrooklyn, for having taken on board a large amount of arms and ammunition tor Cuban ports.
